The fatigue I experience is lack of sleep. I may sleep two to three hours a night, if I'm lucky. Then I'm very restless, even nervious.I also experience
alot of weakness in my body, especially my
legs and arms. This is what it does to me.
I found if you do things to try and relax
it helps alot.Hope this helps you out some. It's hard really to put into words
what it feels like.Take care, rest when you can, even if you have to take cat naps.

My fatigue was all last summer, from March to August. I was tired all of the time, too weak to do anything. Feeling like the flu, but not sick. No apetite, too weak to eat anything. Always wanted to sleep. I would sleep 12 - 14 hours a day, and it still wasn't enough. It is not a good feeling. You feel like giving up, but can't. You feel like not going, but have to. If you have this problem, please have your neurologist help. An acquaintance of mine was put on Ridilin(sp?) to help her, and I guess it worked. Hope everything with you is OK.

I took another approach to combat the same symptoms-I changed my diet. I cut out all dairy, eggs, gluten grains and processed foods, started taking vitamins and black currant or evening primrose oil capsules. I am currently only taking Imipramine in a very low dose, no ABC or other drugs. It is very difficult to restrict your diet in such a manner, but the energy I have tells me it was worth it. I have been on this diet for 7 mos. and it has only helped me deal with the fatigue, has not improved any of the muscular symptoms (coordination, walking, foot cramping.)

Leeny,
What is Impiramine?
I have also started a diet approach to handling Fatigue. I try to eliminate sugars also. I have begun drinking green juices, from fresh produce, juiced myself with kale, carrots, apples, cilantro, parsley, burdock root, spinach, broccoli, ginger, and dandelion greens (various mixes). It seems to give me a great boost. In addition, I take daily supplements of amino acids, multi-vitamins, b-complex, primrose oil, and coenzyme Q10. All of this has prevented me from losing energy, and I have a one year old to keep up with!
Good luck!

Imipramine is generic Tofranil, a tricyclic anti-depressant. It is very mild and I take it at night so it won't interfere with my life. I was so depressed 10 ago years my doctor felt I should take something but I don't really need it now, and I think I will ask him about stopping. Your diet sounds great. Maybe if your baby is exposed to it as he grows it will be easier to follow for you than it is for me...my children are the ones who give me a hard time. Bread and cheese are their primary food groups, it seems.

My fatigue made me tired most of the time. It was a lot of effort to do ANYTHING. Also, it would get worse as the day went on, and it affected my optic neuritis. Driving home after work was hard to do, not because I was too weak, but because it was harder for me to scan visually as the day went on (lane change, anyone?) I was sleeping 9 or 10 hours a night and still waking up tired. My doc just put me on Provigil, and it seems to help a lot. I still get tired, but it feels like a normal kind of tired. I know the above description may be hard to understand, but I think if you've experienced fatigue, you'll know what I mean. BTW, this is only my second day on Provigil, and I feel great. Slightly speedy, maybe, bet definitely worth it!
