For the past several years I have been experiencing so many different symptoms and no one has been able to give me a diagnosis. I get these horrible sharp pains in the back of my head and in my temple, they only last for a few seconds. My muscles twitch all the time. My legs, arms, stomach, face, eye, You name it, it twitches. I get muscle cramps occasionally. Tingling, pins & needles, crawling, burning, cold sensations. Lower ab pain. Chest pain (I have been diagnosed w/costochondritis). Recently my muscles in my arms & legs will start shaking uncontrollably for a few seconds. Sometimes I'll think my legs or arms are numb, but then I pinch them & I can feel them. I could go on forever w/all the weird symptoms I have gotten. I know its not "in my head" or "stress". My body is not normal, something is definitly going wrong. I just wish someone could shed some light my way.
I've been to 2 neuros, rhumatologist, endochronoligist, allergist, etc. I had tons of bloodwork, a CAT scan & MRI w/contrast & they were normal. I am so sick of worrying everyday. I am 22 years old & I want to be able to just live my life. If anyone has any insight please HELP!!

Hi ttynn

I too was the same as you with very similar symptoms. They never all came at the start. First it was the numbness and tingling in my lower legs for months then the twitching (eveywhere) I twitched so badly I could not sleep. I too thought I had a neurological problem.
When I first had the numbness and tingling I went to the doc and he said it was anxiety and stress. I could not and would not believe it. I felt fine that way.
Well to cut an even longer story short, I went back to the docs after nine months he said the same again. Just to make sure he sent me to a neurologist. Who didnt even want to do any tests..... even though I was so ill. So by then I had anxiety and depression and needed anxiety tabs, sleeping pills and anti depressants. Well once I ACCEPTED that it was anxiety and depression I was able to move forward. This was last November and now I take nothing and am REALLY a new person.
When you have anxiety your nerve endings are so raw with the adrenalin racing around you get terrible phyical symptoms, the more you worry the worse it gets. You have had many tests please dont put yourself through anymore, you have to draw the line and accept. The doc has told you he thinks its stress/anxiety or you wouldnt have mentioned it. Why not pop over to the stress and anxiety board and check out their phyical symptoms (same as yours).
There is a book called Hope and help for your nerves by Dr Claire Weekes it will explain your symptoms to you and how this has happened.
A shock I know to think its your nerves. There is lots that can be done for you but you have to make the start and accept what the doc has told you. I now have very slight symptoms getting less by the day (and they only come when Im stressed).

Good luck to you in your search for peace.

I too am having some of the same symptoms. I started out having severe neck and left arm pain. I attributed this to a wreck I had seven years ago, because I had severe whiplash from the wreck and my left arm and neck started to cause pain shortly after that. However, this time the pain seemed to last longer. I then started having severe headaches and dizziness which lasted for @ 1 wk. I still do not feel well-this has been going on for @ 1 mo. I had an MRI of the neck and head and everything showed up normal. I am going to see a neurologist at the end of this month. I am really worried. Any insight would be appreciated.
