I visited my doctor and explained to her I was worried about autoimmune diseases such as Multiple sclerosis. She took my blood to test for autoimmune diseases. My bloodwork came back and she said it was normal. I later found out she only did a lupus panel. Does this automaticallly mean I am also negative from Mulitple Sclerosis and that I shouldn't be worried? Or should I ask her to test for ms as well?

Hi,
Why are you worried about having an autoimmune disease?
Do you have any symptoms of MS?
I am not sure they will test you for MS unless you have symptoms.
I had an MRI today to rule out MS but I won't get my results until I see the Dr. again on the 2end.
I have numbness and tingling in my left arm, leg and tongue and the left side of my face. Among various other symptoms.
I guess if you think there is a problem I would keep pushing until I got an answer.

Hi

Thanks for the reply. I'm worried because I keep getting these annoying twitches in or around my head area. Sometimes they are deep, sometimes shallow. I hear muscle twitches are related to ms.

MS is often diagnosed via a spinal tap with the fluid sent to a lab in CA that does testing specifically for MS. Muscle twitching is way to general and could mean anything. My girlfriend has MS and muscle twitching was not a part of it. She did have severe leg jerking at times and would need to firmly place her hand on her knee to get it to quit.
