Hi, I have had ms since 1992 affecting my right side. A few weeks ago the top front of my left leg has become numb. Within that there is an area that feels like the inside is burning. Does anyone else have that and if so what do you do? Thanks-Sue

I get burning on the top of my legs...on and off. I was just diagnosed in March this year. This MS thing is kind of new to me. Sometimes the burning lasts for days..feels just like a really bad sunburn. Nothing seems to make it go away, I just try to ignore it. Sometimes the burning is in other areas, like my palms of my hands, and sometimes on my insides of my arms. I guess Neurontin is supposed to help with that..although I can't take it, cuz I didn't like the loopy feeling it gives you.
Take care,
Kristi

numbness and burning pain are both common MS symptoms. I've had both. Almost my entire left side from foot to chest was numb for about 6 months, several years ago. Over time the numbness just went away. I have had burning pain in my toes for about a year now. The only thing my neurologist suggested was neurontin which is a drug for treating neuropathic pain. I haven't tried it.

I too have had burning pain and mine has lasted over 8 months with no relief. It gets worse when I'm tired or been in heat (which I avoaid at all costs)
Not sure what to say but icepacks have sometimes helped me, at least I think it helps

i've had burning pains in my body for about 12 years now, it happens every day now and last anywhere from a few seconds to a few hours. I've been told that nothing can help that, but i have tried icepacks, and they don't seem to work on me...but then again, everyone's different!!
