My wife, mother of 2, 5 yr old boy & 7 yr old girl went totally blind and paralyzed below her arms on Jan 28/29, 03. Five weeks later she started to regain some sight, and now has app 6% to 7% restored. She has regained strength, and with great effort can now sometimes manage to wiggle a big toe. Her left arm was also affected, app 75 loss, but has fully recovered. Any advice or contact with anyone who has experienced a similar condition would be appreciated. We will also share our treatments, med history, etc with you.

I lost most of the vision in one eye 1994 and the opthomomogist put me on a three day IV steroid and I regained almost all of my vision. The doctor indicated that the steroid was most effective if *****istered within 3 days of the loss of vision. However, I recently had a similar problem and I waited weeks to take the steroids.

I have secondary progressive MS and I am currently taking methylprednisolone 1000MG (orally) in multiple capsules for three days of the month. This is the equivalent of a three day IV of steroids. After taking the medication, my vision did improve and I have recovered most of it.

I will keep you and your wife in my thoughts and prayers.

Good luck.
