I panic and have the worst anxiety even just going places, I might be anxious...excited, or anxious nervous. They stopped the klonpin but I feel worse now. Should I ride it out, or bring it up?

I have this problem also.I cannot go shopping by myself without feeling extremely panicy.I rarely go anywhere because of this and when I do go shopping I only go with a friend .

I am the same way with shopping but I still make myself go and if I feel panicky I just leave. Just tell yourself that you have done this before and nothing is stopping me from leaving if I need to. Try to stay as long as you can and maybe the bad feelings will go away after awhile.

it sounds like you guys have social anxiety disorder. just a thought.

Some panic disorders can be treated without medicine.

Panic is a learned response and can be 'unlearned'. You need to learn to relax, and then write down what causes you panic. For example, someone who may be afraid to fly, can think about the steps before the flying actually occurs - thinking about travelling by plane - calling to reserve your ticket - Going to collect your ticket - packing your bags - going to the airport - etc.

Once you have written down all the steps that are involved, imagine yourself in that situation and see what steps actually cause you discomfort or panic.

You will then need to re-organise the steps so that the least discomforting is on the top of the list and most discomforting is at the bottom.

Once you have done that, put a post here and I will try to suggest further steps.

Hi shygirl and everyone,
When I know I will have to be away from home,I work myself up to the point of Panic.What I do before I drive off is...I sit in my vehicle for 5 min or however long I need in order to get my courage up.I talk to myself internally,deep breathe etc...Ive never had to leave a place such as the grocery store,Wal-Mart or other places.One thing thats been difficult for me is the more you put yourself into an Anxious place they say it gets easier,I haven't accepted it yet.What I mean is by going places even when scared spitless it lessens the fear.By the grace of my higher power Ive been watched over.
