Hi,
I've had these stupid things since 1979, and yes I have had counselling, relaxation tapes, etc. I was just pushing the envelope too close and it happened. I've always had a problem with over extending myself, especially in situations like this back surgery. I feel that there's just NOBODY else - and I have to do what must be done. I've also learned that alot of things can wait. I guess I needed a reminder. . .Good God did I ever get it http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/bang.gif
Thx for kind words,
Leppi

Hi Leppi,

How uncanny!! I just left a message for you elsewhere on the Boards...now, I wonder if you can find it...?? ;)

Yes, anxiety can rear its horrible, ugly head...oh, no wait on... that's MY head....er, well, anxiety can come back every now and again, despite our best efforts to manage it. You're doing really well http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/t_up.gif

Best wishes,
Chrys. :)

Hi Chrys!
I'm fine - now that I know that I haven't "lost" you. http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/bigcry.gif (kidding) http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/jester.gif
Actually, I'm laughing to keep from crying. All this crap going on with my husbands back surgery has taken it's toll on both of us. He has ONE OF THE squirreliest docs I've ever known. . .and I've met alot of 'em!(This is the surgeon that performed the back surgery). This one truly wins the prize! Sometimes I think I must be a nut magnet http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/dizzy.gif otherwise, why would I keep having to carry a bag of nuts for all these squirrely docs?
The waiting is the hardest part. We know that he has not healed properly, but you have to "play the game" and go through all the phases that is required before you can FINALLY get out of suspense as to "what does the future hold for us?" I suppose it's not as big of a deal as it seems to us. It's the suspense and fear of the unknown, as to what the future holds for us. Somewhere, deep down inside, I believe it will be okay, so, not to worry. :nono:
I hope you are well and everything is fine in you neck of the woods.
Sending my love((((( http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/love1.gif )))))

...I was wondering what it was that drew me to you ... ;)...lol

Back surgery is tricky business...how is your husband going now? I am presuming the surgery didn't go as planned? I hope your husband isn't in too much pain :(

I have noticed your posts; you go to so much trouble to reach out to people and make them feel better. Bless you; you an

Actually, he isn't in that much pain anymore, but his left hip, thigh, ankle and foot, seem substantially weaker than before. He is going for physical therapy next week. I don't think he will ever be able to drive an 18 wheeler again, and I think they know it. . so, they know they will have to re-train him for other occupation. I'm sure workers comp doesn't want to be out the money, and the doc that performed the surg doesn't want any of the blame, so it feels like we're being pushed from one place to the other and it's, "hurry up and wait!" I just wish it was all over - but, doesn't everyone?
I'm sure things will be fine. . .it's just this waiting that's killing us both! http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/tired.gif
Oh, by the way, are you going to The Mansion? I am.
