Are you seeing a GP or a Psychiatrist? How long have you been on your current med? What dose did you start on and what dose are you on now?
Each medication works differently with each person's chemistry, especially antidepresant/antianxiety meds. Most doctors realize this and work with the patient. However, there are some doctors that still follow the "one size fits all" rule.

Have you ever tried Celexa? I took Celexa for over a year and it worked miracles on me for depression and helped with the anxiety also up until a few months ago and I had to stop taking it because it made my anxiety worse. I do recomment this medication though cause it is a great one!!
Good Luck!!

Hey, I was also on Zoloft for some periods over the past three years. I Felt very depressed each time on it too and I'm still feeling the effects now. Tell your doc or just stop it cause it can get worse. Like they said, every person reacts differently to these kinds of meds. Take care!

Mollymarie,
I would find another doctor. If it is making you feel that bad, you need a different med. Also, why does he still have you on 25mg? My doc put me on 25mg for a week, then went to 50mg. I take Nortriptylin (similar to amitriptylin) for anxiety and Zoloft for migraines. I will be weaning off the Nortriptylin soon.
I am so sorry you are having such a negative experience. I know what it's like to be on a med that's not working and can't get it changed. Hang in there!

Molly, sweety, I am so sorry to hear that things are so tough for you at the moment. I know you probably won't feel like doing this, as anything at the moment probably seems like hard work, but please either insist that your doctor listen to you, or even better, go and see another doctor.
If necessary, take someone with you to act as your advocate, if you feel that it is too overwhelming to describe how you are feeling.
...thinking of you, and hoping things get better soon,
