Hi!

i have been doing some research on different homepathic remedies for anxiety and have some that look promising. i have been taking a homeopathic remedy for recurrent hives for years (on and off) and it works better than anything the doctor ever gave me. so, i figure, maybe if i respond that well to it, i should try it for Anxiety.

Does anyone have any experience with this? i know there is a homepath board here on the health boards, i plan on posting there too.

TIA! :)

i tryed homopathic remides last year ,my aunt is nearly a fully qualified doctor in it..when u go see them they ask u every thing about ur past and feeling etc....then they decide which remedy suites u best.i cant remember which one i got but it was just one tablet at a high dose and u just put it in ur mouth to dissolve..at first symptoms i had years ago came back but only briefly and i felt a little better for a few weks ,,but then i had to go back on the tablets my doctor gave me so im not sure if it would have worked if i gave it time ,i think that im so much a worrier i felt safer on tablets from my gp.but im going to see if i can go back and try it again because i hate taking tablets and one day id love to come of them altogether and i think a remedy would help me do that.give it a try u never know it might help.

Hi Tina,

You can use homeopathic remedies at the same time as conventional medication. Lots of people do this with good success. It sounds as though the remedy you were given was helping you though, as return of symptoms is all part of the direction of cure.

I am also a homeopathy student and have had fun taking the cases of friends. Of course, I had to start with the most difficult case where I have had to get through hundreds of layers and slowly peel them off, but I am getting there slowly. It is very satisfying to see people getting better though.

Do go back to your treatment if you can. It should still have some effect even continuing to take conventional medication.

Good luck

Hey :) I've found homeopathy excellent in helping with my panic. My mum sees a homeopath regularly so she helps out with me too. Ive found that bach flower remedies help alot too, specially Rescue Remedy. I'm agoraphobic too, so i'll try anything that'll help me, though i'm not a big pill person, so I guess i'll try anything besides chemicals.. but i'd recommend homeopathy to most people. :D

Hi,
I would be willing to try anything that isn't a pill..what is Rescue Remedy? So far I have been offered anti-depressants, Paxil this week. I really am frightened of the side effects. Have taken Valium over the years but after 3 panic attacks in a row Monday night, I realized that the Valium isn't doing the job and I absolutely do not want to increase it. I have had episodes of agoraphobia throughout my life, at one point housebound for 5 years. So, would be interested in the Bach flower thing...what is that also?
Thanks, Karima

Bach Flower Remedies are a bit like homeopathy in the way that they use natural plant extracts to heal, but bach flower uses liquid distillation instead of pill form. It comes in little bottles, and you can either take 4 drops directly (which works quicker, for emergencies) or you can add drops to water and drink throughout the day. It works quickly, especially if you put the drops under your tongue.

The rescue remedy is a combination remedy which has around 4 or 5 blended into one, specifically for anxiety and panic. Some people it doesnt work on, but others it does, and fast too. I recommend it. :D

Thank so much for the quick reply. I am going online to see where I can find Rescue Remedy...it's great to have an alternative to meds. I will let you know how I make out...best wishes, Karima
