hi a few of you have mentioned these 'rushes'........ can someone tell me if they are experiencing the same as me.
first time l ever had a 'rush' was about 5 years ago. l had been arguing with my boyfriend of then got really upset and got this'feeling' as if something was stroming either side of my back near kidney area then rushed up both of my sides and sort of met further up my back. since that day ive only had it happen the odd time, those of you who have followed my posts the last couple of days will of seen me mention them as ive had2 in 2 days when i have been feeling over anxious. l have just give myself a little scare when i done a search on adrenalin rushes which toook me to adrenalin disorders. l did have my blood checked for all kinds early last year, dont know whether adrenalin ? were part of that test. the 'rushes' im experiencing last for seconds maybe 10 but it feels ahell of alot longer. l am gonna make an appointment to see my doctor l want to know if anybody else is experiencing the same thing, thanx http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/heart.gif

YES, :)
I got alot of wierd rushes in the begining.
Mine felt like they started from my adreanal glands and rushed up into my stomache and heart.I haven't had one in a while(thank god). But I'd thought I'd let you know that I have experienced these before.

You know the feeling you get when you are suddenly very frightened by an unexpected event: a strange dog rushing at you, near accident in a car, etc.? That surge you feel is the adrenalin rush. It is supposed to be there at those times. If I get one powerful panic attack the adrenalin race leaves my body exhausted the rest of the day.
You have to get a special test for your adrenal glands to see what your levels are. That is usually when they do the cortisol check and that should be done twice...once in the a.m. and again in the p.m.
Adrenal exhaustion is something that needs immediate attention. It is just another lab and your doc should be okay with it especially as we get hit with these attacks back to back over a period of time...hope that helped answer your question...

thanx karima, have you had this done??? l know what your saying about a dog coming after you etc i can have a fright and nothing go haywire, it must be when im sensitive to it all. have you had this test? wot happened to you? l cant say how i feel exactly afterwards, shocked, scared, bewildered, i feel tired/exhaused when i am anxious. incidently, l believe my first panic attack started atthe dentists its along story and to be blunt it wasnt very proffesional treating a nervous patient to stories of reviving patients http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/bang.gif this happened after i had injection to numb gum area, l was ill for hours the whole panic attack type symptoms. The dentist decided he wouldnt use injections on me with adrenalin in anymore and made a note of it, im wondering if this could have anything to do with it somewhere along the line cos before that experience id only had it happen once before after a big fall out with my so, in anyhow im gonna see my doctor dont wanna leave it to get worse, im grateful for all the replies and it helps if l know im not alone thank you http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/heart.gif

Hi,
At times when Im perfectly safe,I have these"rushes"that feels like something is rushing through my body.It almost always starts from the center of my chest, flowing to the middle and down my arms...A weird scary sensation...When this happens I try my best to relax til it passes...Of course our minds are working overtime so we start wondering whats wrong with us...Ive had the most strangest sensations since having Panic Disorder...

Yes I had the cortisol test done just over a year ago.
It was okay. However in the last year I have had a definite increase in anxiety and of course panic attacks so I will be asking for that lab again.
Agoraphobia as been a life-long shadow. It will stay away for years and then show up with after a heavy dose of stressful events too close together. As I get older I have noticed it doesn't take much to reach that peak either. I am having difficulty walking out down the driveway now to get to my mailbox, 3 years ago I was flying alone 1,000 miles to visit with family!
Hope you got some help from my posts..you sound so much like you are living my life....best wishes, Karima

I agree with what you said,"Agoraphobia being a life long shadow..It will stay away for years then show up after a heavy dose of stress."Im living proof of that too..It seems when we go through stressful periods boom there it is all over again...I was doing so well til I lost my step-sister,lost my granny, split up from my fiancee, financial strain...I went through some stressful times and was completing my Associate degree at the time and began working towards my Bachelor degree..I can't believe I sat in a crowded gymnasium amongst thousands of people and actually walked across a stage to receive my Diploma...I honestly do not know how I mananaged that with my life being in such a mess at the moment...

I was just thinking about how these rushes could harm me when I found this post!
I have these all the time, especially if my brain dips into the future while Im thinking about something else, maybe life going to fast, or what I will die from when Im old.
They are smaller rushes though, light adrenaline, like when someone says your name to do something you dont want to do, just through my chest.
Are they harmful?
Could they cause a stroke?
How can I ocntrol them?
Any herbal remedies?
xcheers
