Hi All,
After thirty days (almost exactly) my anxiety is creeping back up. :(
thankfully, it hasnt hit a peak, or gotten worse, thanks to tea and Xanax.
It weird though, everytime i get this way, my eyes feel weird... dry, unfocused, kinda numb. i assume this is allergies, but, i associate it with anxiety since my anxiety comes along with it.
I am feeling really down about my anxiety, and i wish it would simply go away (how many times have we all said that? ;)).
i just needed to vent and gain some support- i feel really alone when this all comes up again... i dont know anyone is RL who has anxiety/panic, it hard to relate.

Thanks Andrea- yes, i have read your posts, and i send out my hugs and thoughts for you too.
Anxiety sucks- plain and simple. There is no way to understand it until you have lived it. One of my friends tells me, "Just quit worrying about ____." and i tell her, "Gee, i hadnt thought of that." http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/rolleyes.gif
Its getting better, but i am still having problems eating, and that is bizaar for me- i like to eat, usually. but, i find that i feel completely sick to my stomach and grossed out if i even think about food... http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/confused.gif
i am off to get some exercise- hopefully that will help! :bouncing:
thanks!

Hi Raina,
Really sorry to hear that you're having such a tough time.
The thing w/the eyes-I have that too. When I move my head...feels like my eyes don't move w/it, out of focus, etc. Also, have the nausea something terrible. As soon as my feet hit the floor in the am's, I'm on the 'pot.' http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/rolleyes.gif
Hope things get better. . .SOON!

right, Bev; so how do you work it when your H wants
to be on the highway fifteen minutes after you wake up in a motel room? I need to be "on the pot" as you say but he's happily buzzing 70mph down the hwy while I'm
feeling rotten about myself, wanting to be back in the room, looking for Rest Stops then getting panicy over it all. So we have to buy an RV. Just because I'm so
dysfunctional I need a bathroom. My ex had to buy the same thing because his girlfriend has the same problem; it works for her, far as I know. He's Always traveling.

Hi!
Hey Bev, you get the eye-thing too? people keep telling me that it is probably just an allergy, which i wouldnt doubt... but now, seeing how this is the second time i have had it and the second time i have had it WITH anxiety, i start to think its part of the anxiety.
thanks for all the support.
ciao,

Aster, it hasn't been easy. I don't "go" as much as I used to and he's had to learn to live w/it. If I know we're going somewhere I try to get some Xanax 'down,' so I'll have SOME level of comfort. I've wrestled w/agoraphobia for years as well, so it's a double whammy for me. It's wonderful that you have the RV. A precious few times I've HAD to stop on the side of the road....ohhhh, that was embarrassing. http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/redface.gif http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/t_down.gif http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/redface.gif

Hi Raina,
Yes, I've had the 'eye thing' for a looonnnng time. Every time I tried to explain this to a doc....they looked at me like I was crazy, or a drug addict. You could actually see it on their faces. They would immediately start toward the door and want to 'dismiss' me from their office and if I asked if there was anything they could do for me, or meds they could give me, they would say I probably needed to get more rest...and blew me off. A few tested my Thyroid, it was normal, so finally a doc gave me a med called Tranxene and I got a good deal of relief, but I still didn't understand all the 'whys' and 'what fors,' (I don't think he knew that much about it either). Just this year, I found a psych that told me that it happens because of the adrenaline pumping from the anxiety/panic,(fight or flee), to such an extent that it causes dizziness, eyes out of focus, & lots of other symptoms - because the adrenaline shouldn't be going into our system if there's no reason. You can't imagine how relieved I was that SOMEBODY told me it wasn't "just in my head." http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/dizzy.gif lol

Hey Raina,
I've been recommending these books all over the place, but they have REALLY helped me. They're written by Dr Claire Weekes, one entitled "Hope And Help For Nerves," the other, "Peace From Nervous Suffering." She describes all of your symptoms and then intructs you what to do to help yourself recover. I really can't recommend one over the other...they're both GREAT books. They're only $6.99 U.S.
Surely hope they will help you as much as they have me.
Hugs,
Bevlep

I'm so glad you mentioned your eyes! While I'm Twicking out my eyes bother me too. Not just my vision but physically they become dry and sore, but not always usually just at high anxiety times.
I;m taking paxil and xanax, but my doctor has given me Paxil CR and also Lexapro. He left it up to me to decide while I wanted to trade up to.
Anyone have any suggestions on that?

Hey Beth,
I know all of this is really a bummer but isn't it nice to know that there are people that can relate and you don't have to wonder if you're the only one w/these symptoms? And, we can pass on info to each other and share experiences. I love it here, hope you do too and welcome!
