Hello. I have been to the doctors and ER several times in the past 12 months and still have not found an answer to what was causing my problem. Some doctors suggested anxiety attacks as a possibility.
I was new at university last year (first time away from home, etc) I had my first assignment due in a few days, I guess I may have been a little stressed... my stomach started to feel ill early in the afternoon. The muscles felt like they had tightened and were cramped. After a few hours I started vomiting constantly (ie, every 30-60 minutes) until the next morning when I made a doctor appointment. They were full until 4 days later, so I thought I would be fine by then and didn't make the appointment. I stayed that way unable to keep any food down at all for three more days before I thought I needed to find out the problem. I made it to the doctor, got blood tests, etc then was sent to hospital. They gave me needles to stop vomiting and kept me there for 24 hours then I was fine.
Several times again I would feel sick whenever I went shopping (I guess I get nervous around people sometimes). If I go to bed and rest as soon as I get the sick feeling I am okay.
About three months later I got my nose pierced. The day before I had to go home for holidays I started to worry about my parents seeing it. I let it worry me too much and got sick again, the same as earlier in the year, maybe worse. I went straght to the ER after it was still the same 24 hours later where they gave me a drip because this time I wasn't able to drink anything at all either. I was sick of all the needles and drip and it was past 3am in the morning so I told them I felt fine and they let me leave. I got better on my own.
Yesterday night I got back from watching my boyfriend's graduation. His parents were there... another stressful occasion. Once again I was sick.

I always feel sick high up in my stomach... as high up as the bottom of my ribs. It isn't really like nausea. It is different. It is hard to breathe... kind of a tight feeling. I crave drinks but then get sick if I have them. The doctors done tests for viruses, etc, but they all have no idea what it could possibly be. They thought maybe an image disorder/ eating disorder, but after monitoring that for awhile they let that idea go as well. I had to see a psychologist for months. It seemed like, and was, a complete waste of time so I stopped going to the appointments.

I just want to know whether anyone agrees that this could be an anxiety problem.

Thankyou for any answers. I would like to know what is or maybe isn't causing this because it is completely unpreventable and stops me from being able to do things I need to get done.

Thanks... and sorry for the long post.

it seems to be caused by anxiety so relaxation and stress managment books would help, doesnt sound like panic attacks to me
did they give you meds to stop the vomiting?

Now, when I begin to worry about something I start to feel sick, but if I don't allow myself not to worry and just ignore the problem it doesn't seem to get any worse.

They gave me injections while at the hospital because I usually was sick after taking the tablets. I have a pack of Maxolon, which helps with the vomiting, but doesn't make you feel any better. I would rather not take the tablet. You still NEED to be sick but you just can't. Its horrible.

Well, thanks for the reply. :)
I guessed it had to be something like this, seeing as I was healthy otherwise.
