Hi,
I am taking Xanax- have been on .5mg. twice a day for two weeks now. i used to take Lorazepam (same dose) but find the Xanax didnt make me as groggy. i am happy i switched.
i dont find my anxiety triggered by a person, but i do find it triggered by places... especially places i have experienced a bad episode. recently, i had one, and took a bath- now i dont want to take a bath, because of the association. i once did an intense yoga workout, and afterwards had an anxiety attack- i couldnt do it, and still havent done it since.
ciao,

Hi Andrea,
Yes, yes yes!!! Certain people cause me great anxiety http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/blob_fire.gif and thus, I do not wish to go around them. . . and don't! I have tried to work with these people and I am not running away from them. We have the right to "divorce" people, or the things in our lives that cause us nothing but trouble. I have always been the person that keeps trying to "work things out." http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/dizzy.gif Some things just can't be worked out, so you cannot allow them to change you :nono: . . .but you can change yourself. Make decisions to stay away from things or people that cannot or will not change. Life is a two way street and I'm trying to go forward. For those that want a one way street. . . they can have it cause I'm not going in reverse.
Wishing you the best,
Leppi

Hey Girl,
Don't look at it as a major setback - you had some good days, and you'll have some more. This is just part of it. I can't tell you how many am's I wake up with a full blown panic attack. I jump outta bed, grab the meds and get busy. It's just part of the things we all go through. Please don't let it get you down. Just jump back up! :bouncing: http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/blob_fire.gif :bouncing:
I extend my heart and my hands http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/heart.gif http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/heart.gif

Isn't it wonderful to be able to come here and know that we're not in this alone and that someone cares enough to try and understand, encourage and give any info they have, as well as give the best advice.
Sometimes I feel like such a failure, loser and just a downright fool! When I feel this way, I can start reading and posting and before any time at all, someone has lifted my spirits or given me an idea that I can apply to my problems.
I send my love ((((( http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/heart.gif )))))

adeebd,
Xanax is the only thing that ever helped me.
What is it that you'd like to know about it?

My Dr. told me to start taking xanax while my body is getting used to the Zoloft. I am scared I will get addicted to the xanax but my Dr. told me that won't happen on a small dose and if it make me feel better to just take it. I have noticed that I start shakin really bad if I don't take it but that is how my anxiety is. I know I am just thinking too much sometimes I just drive myself crazy thinking about this.

If your anxiety has triggers, treat it like you would any allergy: Avoidance!
I know first hand it isn't always possible, but I do the best I can. Which including changing jobs. Sadly, because I really enjoyed my job, but it was getting too stressful, even if I was not suffering from panic attacks anymore.
