How do I encourage my 2 year old to eat well? Up until she was about 18 months, my husband and I would look on proudly as she ate broccoli, sweet potatoes, brussels sprouts, cabbage, everything (except, oddly, regular potatoes). Then, overnight, she quit eating everything but bread, Gerber Meat Sticks, macaroni and cheese, and English peas. My husband and I eat a variety of fruits, vegetables, etc., and put them on her plate at every meal, but my she will not touch them. I can occasionally sneak a bite of something "healthy" in with the mac and cheese, but if she happens to discover it, she spits out the whole mouthful, and then won't eat anything. Perhaps I am exaggerating slightly out of frustration (she did eat some Honey Bunches of Oats for breakfast this morning, and some cherries and grapes, now that I think about it, but she really won't touch vegetables other than English Peas.) Any ideas? I hope she will outgrow it.

I have almost the same problem. My now 3 year-old will not eat vegetables, except corn. Like that has much nutritional value! I've tried everything. He can detect one molecule of vegetable in a whole pot of rice! I just give him a multivitamin and hope everything turns out ok. I've noticed if I forget to give him his vitamins he get cranky and irritable.
Sorry I have no advice that works. BTW my older son is overweight and will eat ANYTHING edible or not. Go figure!

I have a 10 & 5 yrs old. Went through those stages with both. Vitamins definetly help. I think it makes the cravings for different things. Another thing I do to this day is if my kids do not want something I am eating fine do not offer it to them. Just sit and when you are eating make noises like it is the best thing you have ever hate. It will not work on them the first few times around but eventually they are wondering "hey I wonder what that taste like?"
Good Luck and God Bless!!

When my daughter was 2 or 3 she would hardly eat anything and when I took her to the doctor the doctor assured me that as long as she ate even half a tuna fish sandwich for the whole day, it is fine - they do grow out of this. I know it is nerve racking because you feel they aren't getting their nourishment but keep them on a good vitamin
