Two years ago my aunt hurt her shoulder by tearing her muscles. Since then she has been in constant pain, and nothing seems to help, even doctors. She has even tried magnetic therapy. I feel horrible for her and the pain is now starting to spread down the one side of her body. I was wondering if anyone has had, or has known anyone with these symptoms.

Hey there, read your post and no one should be in pain, not with the pain clinics . Also this is a nero problem, have you taken her to a nerologist? My huuuusband and I both have periphiral neurothopy and it will travel like that but so will several other conditions. Check it out and hope she gets dx soon so she can have some relief.

Gidget here,
this is a slow board and you should have gotten better response, out of 57 people reading your post only 2 replys! I am from the lymphoma board and I have several neroumusclar dieases too.
Peripherial nero. pain does travel around and my husband and I have it too, he is a dibetic and got it that way, I am not a dibetic but I have it, I have had a spinal tap and a muscle biopsy with lots of blood work done by a neroulogist for dx. Get a referal and go to one for answers, no one should live in pain, there is medication to help stop the pain and I also go to a pain clinic where you can get the best care for pain relief to live life pain free!
take care, gidget

I just read your post & realize it's 3 mos after you first posted it, but...I thought i'd reply. I did the same thing to my shoulder a few yrs back. I'm convinced I should have had surgery to repair the tear. (But did not). It was difficult for me to use that arm without having a lot of pain for many, many months. I eventually did go & was prescribed cortisone (which helped), later I was prescribed anti-inflamatories, which also helped. But my dr told me pain is "referred" to other areas, which for me made sense, as even my hand was hurting. I hope your aunt has had the proper treatment by now.

My shoulder hurt too especially at night. I went to a physical therapist but all the things he showed me I could do myself at home so I quit going. I found that exercise and heat worked for me. I sometimes sleep with a heating pad on my shoulder. It feels so good. I think its helping too. Just thought I would mention it maybe its not for you but give it a try.
