I am a 38 year old female. About a month ago my left eye started twitching. It would only happen when I sneezed, yawned or flinched. By the second week it did it without cause. By the third week I noticed some other muscle twitching but dismissed it. By week four every muscle in my body is twitching intermittantly. It's more noticable while I'm resting. They are just little twitches from my back, to my stomach, to each extermity...no rhyme or reason.....about every 30 seconds or so. It is keeping me awake at night I twitch so much. I have absolutly NO other symptoms...only this damn twitch! I do suffer from anxieties (have for 20 years), but until now my only symptoms for that have been rapid heart rate, sweats and general nervous feelings. I'm scared it could be more than just panic. Does anyone have any suggesstions?

Just a follow up..... I had an EMG done today. They found absolutly NOTHING wrong. (He said it's kind of like going to the garage to see what's wrong with your car, and then your car doesn't act up while you are there.) He indicated it might be stress related. Has anyone else ever heard of this happening due to stress?

Yes, I get all over muscle twitching when I am under a lot of stress. I don't really know what causes it. It is very irritating though.

Kathy,

Thanks for the confirmation :D I had been making it worse by worrying that it was something more serious like MS etc. That I had been progressively twitching more and more. Once I admitted it was my anxiety and re-aquainted myself with my "best friend" Xanex http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/t_up.gif They almost immediatly started to slow. I am still working through it, but I see light at the end of the tunnel. I am sooo glad I found this board and all you terrific people! http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/heart.gif
