Hello-does anybody know what might be causing this? The other day I got this numbness in my left hand on the pinkie finger down to the wrist-it has been that way for about 2 days now! :( I'm so scared I have permenant nerve damage-I don't know what to do. I don't want to sound "pitty" or hypocondriac, but I am trying to recover from 14 yrs. of anorexia/bulimia-and since I have stopped purging, unfortunately been over exercising-it's always "all or nothing"--I hate that! But I was just wondering, becuz the other day I went to the gym and did 8 hrs. of cardio, and since then the whole "numbness" in my hand-does anyone have any advice? On my hand--trust me, I know the ED will kill me if I don't quit, which I'm SO trying--it's the hardest thing I've ever done--anyways, thanks so much! Take care, God Bless, & always-Keep Smilen! :)

There is a nerve which runs into the pinky (and half the ring finger) from the arm. If excessive pressure is applied to the arm for a long time, numbness may show up in the pinky (and half the ring finger). Often, people awake with this numbness from sleeping on their arm for a prolonged period. Does your numbness include half of the ring finger next to the numb pinky? If so, the numbness should subside, though I think two days is a long time for the nerve to recover from pressure.

Thanks so much for responding-ummm...no, I don't really have any numbness in my ring finger--but the "sleeping" or numbness is still in my pinkie-down to my wrist--but now the other hand (right) my ring finger is numb too--my pinkie has been this way since I first posted, which was about a month ago...and ring finger on other hand has been about 2-3 weeks too....it seems the more I overexercise--the worse things are getting... :( --but I have put myself back in therapy--it's just so hard--it's so "easy", I know all the stuff and what I need to do....I have been fighting for so long---yet it's the hardest thing in my whole life--well, this has been my "life" so far....and I just want to start living finally, and see the world!! :) ED's are NO way to live...just PURE hell....anyways, thanks again...and hopefully this will go away...Take care, God Bless, and always...Keep Smilen!! ;)

i am hoping someone could explain this to me. today is tuesday july 17th i have had this numbness/tinngling in my left hand( my pinkie and ring finger) since about july 11th. i am starting to get scared. i had surgery on my shoulder 2 years ago and have had off and on tingling sensations in this hand but not for this long. i work on a computer all day long as well so i don't think that is helping things either. another curveball to throw into the mix is that my parents are both diabetic and i know i will most likely be too, but i feel healthy otherwise. my blood pressure and sugar count has always been good though i am a little over weight. if anyone could give me an idea of why my fingers are feeling this way i would appreciate it. thank you.
