Hello everyone. I just got diagnosed with chronic myofascial pain. Is anyone here familiar with this at all? I had never heard of this disease before so I'm hoping to find someone else that is dealing with this.

I just had an appointment with the doctor today. He mentioned this. I really didnt understand but I believe it has to do with your nerves bunching up and then causing pain. I am going for an EMG so maybe I will learn more on this. Sorry I dont know anymore.

You will find that when myofascial pain syndrome is in articles, many times fibromyalgia is mentioned somewhere nearby as well. They are similar, but with one distinct difference. Myofascial is basically limited to one area, whereas fibro is a widespread problem.

I've got myofascial troubles myself in one area. It's not fun when it "flares" up at all....

Do a search for "myofascial pain syndrome" and you'll get tons of info!

(Edited to say "I'll send you some website links I have.)
