Hi
I have peripheral neuropathy in my hands, legs, feet and face. In the last two years I have developed sleep apnea and wonder if they could be related. I am female and slender, not your typical candidate for apnea. I sometimes wake up several times in the night in terror because I am not breathing, When I can breath again I take in a huge gasp. I don't feel like there is anything in my airways more like my brain isn't telling my lungs to breath. And just recently it is happening as I fall asleep, three nights now with hardly any sleep.
Does anyone else have this problem and is it related to neuropathy. What do you think could cause both problems? Thanks so much.

Yes, I have Neuropathy , Narcolepsy and Sleep Apnea. If you have experenced very vivid dreams of all kinds, I sugguest you look up Narcolepsy on the internet. I now have a CPAP to help my breathing at night. Keep hounding your doctor to not only hear you but LISTEN to you on all of these. It has taken me 63 years to get help for the Narcolepsy. If it had not been for the Neuropathy, I may have never gotten to the root of Narcolepsy. Good luck, there is hope, you are not alone! Marcylee
