I post on the pain management board. I have had
chronic pain 24/7 for 7 months now. I had my gallbladder taken out last november and ever since then i have had sharp constant (sometime burning)pains in my upper
abdomen that never goes away! :-(
I have had all kinds of tests and the doctor's can't seem to know what's causing me this horrible constant pain. the tests that i have had are: mri,ct scan, Hida scan, scope, EKG, x-rays, numerous blood tests, urine tests and all appear normal.
I have seen countless doctor's and no one can give me a definete answer to my pain. I am about 99% sure that this pain that i have is caused from nerve damage from the surgery. I have told the doctor's that and some of them agreed that, that's what's causing me this pain, but they said that there's no known cure for nerve damage and that i will probably just have to life with it for the rest of my life, and i'm only 33 yrs. old! :-( I cry everyday because i'm in so much pain, i have been on pain med's but they make me sick, right now (actually today) i went to a pain clinic and all they want to do is put me in a group with other people and do exercises to help me with my pain. :-( How is exercising going to help with my chronic pain?? (you can read all my postings on the pain management board I wrote about my experience that i had today at the pain clinic.)
Has anyone gotton nerve damage from some sort of surgery?? My mother in law just had gallbladder surgery last week and she is fine, a co-worker of mine had g/b surgery a month before i did and she's fine, so why did this have to happen to me?? :-(
I guess it's not uncommon (from what i have read on the internet) that you can get nerve damage from surgery. people have asked me if i have filed a lawsuit yet, but i told them that i couldn't because the doctor's say that they can't find out anything what's causing me this pain, and plus fileing a lawsuit would only give me money, it wouldn't take away my pain. :-( well thanks for reading, and i'm glad that i found this board!
