Just wondering if anyone that has been on Topamax has experienced any sleeplessness? Or twitching? I was just switched from Zonegran to Topamax and I seem to have a problem sleeping and a twitching in my right eye. Its not a sever twitching, just more of an annoying thing. Was wondering if that could be due to the Topamax? Anyones experiences on Topamax would be greatly appreciated (whether it relates to the twitching or sleeplessness or not :))! Good or bad!! Thank you for reading.

I was on topamax a month ago for a nerve disorder I have. The first week was good then it hit me. I was so agitated I could not stand myself. I also got twitching in my eyes. I was very nervous and jumpy. I would wake up from a dead sleep and get panick attacks. It was horrible for me. http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/confused.gif
Not everyone reacts the same. I happened to have a bad reaction to topamax. 2 days after I stopped I was back to normal.
Topamax has helped some people tremedously but it was not a drug for me.
Best of luck.

Dear Cattys,
Thanks so much for the reply, it makes me feel much better to know that the twiching has happened to you too... well, that sounds bad... but you know what I mean :) I did end up calling my PM doctor and she said that she has heard of that effect and asked me to say on it for a bit longer and "see what happens". I said I was comfortable with that.
Im taking it for Chronic/ undiagnosed pain. Lovely combination :) I was on Neutontin, but that didnt agree with me (side effects) although the pain was gone. Then Zonegran, no side effects, but the pain was still there. And now hoping that Topamax will be the key to stoping this "thing". They are going on the assumption that my nerves are misfiring. Who knows.
I was begining to wonder if this was another "symptom" of whatever appears to be alling me, but I suppose that I will chalk it up to the Tomamx until I know otherwise. Thank you again. I truely appreciate it, and wish you a painfree day.
