I have been given a diagnosis so far of idiopathic small fiber peripheral neuropathy. This is a very painful and frusturating disease. I have had MRI's, EMG/NCV's, an ungodly amount of blood work, 24 hour urine, spinal tap, and they cannot find a cause. I lost my job due to the amount of days I was missing, and now I am unsure I can even return to work. Has anyone else had any luck with getting disability with this diagnosis? And if so, how long of a process was it? Any advice anyone can give me at this point will be so greatly appreciated, I am at my witts end.

Sorry to hear about your pain, it must be severe. Have you ever heard it called Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy? I know that kind of burning pain is awful.
As far as getting some relief, have you tried to see if B12 will help? If not, pick up some Methylcobalamin B12. The type is very important. The most common form is Cyanocobalamin and is not easily absorbed. The methyl is over-the-counter, but harder to find. Try a few tablets and you'll know within an hour if they help. It'll do no harm to try.
If it does, then start looking for the cause.
