Hi. I'm 42 and male. Last year I underwent a blepharoplasty (lower eyelid) procedure and apparently also, the doctor decided, a "mid-face lift" to give me fuller cheeks. Now, some nine months later my cheeks are still quite stiff and I feel a nervous "buzziness" under my eyelids, especially on my right side, upon closing them.
Often, when I look closely in the mirror under my right eye, that same buzziness is apparent as an ongoing ripple below the skin which can turn into a full, repetitive twitch of the upper or lower eyelid, or surrounding areas, upon blinking that eye.
At other times, when things are bad, the muscles around my right eye area will twitch madly for minutes at a time, several times an hour, and possibly for weeks straight.
I've done some research on the subject, and, yes, it would appear in my case that fatigue or stress does play some, but certainly not the only, role. Lubricating eye drops also appear to help.
Anyone know what might be happening?
