Since Nov 2002 I have been on high blood pressure meds and have great difficulty walking because of pain in legs from hips to toes progressively has got worse over the eight months and also I have in the past two or three months. In the 90's I began experiencing hot patches on my soles burning skin numb patches and tingling in my feet and burning skin. 2002 I had doppler scans and ultrasound on my legs they found nothing. Has anyone else had this kind of reaction to HBP meds. Apart from the pain numbness and burning at times my legs lack any energy and I physically lift (with my hands) my legs into and out of the car etc). The muscles eg calf and general lower legs are so painful to touch much of the time. Would be very interested in feedback. Could this be Periph Neurop??

What sort of blood pressure medicine are you taking? My doctor took me off Tenormin which is a Beta Blocker cause I started having neuropathy. Unfortunately that was not the cause but have your doctor change your medicine and see if there is any change.

Hi there...I too have had a lot of trouble with the soles of my feet. Numbness, burning, a feeling like the skin has thickened, some peeling of the skin etc. I do not know about the blood pressure meds. The only suggestion I have for you is to see a specialist in this field if you have not done so. My family Doctor was unable to do anything about my condition other than give me Ultram. He then sent me to see a Neurologist and within a few weeks we knew what it was. We do not know what has caused this condition and we are having a real hard time trying to find a medication that does not make me sick. But at least the Tramadol (Ultram) helps with the pain. Which can be excruciating. So if you have not been to a specialist and had the MRI and EMG you need to do this.
