I HAVE BEEN DIAGNOSED WITH BENIGN ESSENTIAL TREMORS SINCE 1988/89 AND STILL LIVE WITH IT. ANYONE HELP ME
UNDERSTAND THIS DISEASE????? I HAVE TAKEN INDERAL FOR
IT BUT HIGH DOSES CAUSE ME TO NOT BE ABLE TO SETTLE DOWN FOR ANY LENGTH OF TIME OR SLEEP WELL. ARE THERE
ANY NEWER TREATMENTS AVAILABLE?

I, too, have tremors and get botox shots in my neck every three months and take oral meds as well. I take Neurontin, Clonzazpam and Trihexyphenidyl. The shots aren't fun but do the job pretty well along with the meds. My neurologist is Dr. Alan Freeman at Emory Health Clinic. He is the Motion Disorders doc for the entire southeast. He stays on top of things and listens to me when I talk before he makes decisions. He's great. Find a good doc and you'll have a better time with this. Mine is liveable now. Barb
