I have a similar fear but it's not only spiders its practically all insect type things. And it seems that these bugs know who is afraid of them because out of everyone in a room, they tend to crawl, fly, slither towards me. I could be paranoid about that but it's what I've experienced. Sometimes I get tremble really badly upon noticing an insect and if I HAVE to kill it, then sometimes I cry or scream. *weak smile*

You are much braver than I. I would never let spiders or anything crawl on me!

It seems as time goes on it gets worst. Other bugs have come into my list of not being able to tolerate-june bugs as one of them. I like to go camping and it's not as much fun being so terrified. How do I stop?
God Bless.

Okay, I think I've had enough of spiders and insects. Where I work, I work for two offices side by side, and one day this week while I was in one of them I saw TWO daddy long leggy type of spiders but one was bigger and had a red body, first time I've seen one of those!! And one was an albino daddy long leg thing... I was horrified. Though there was some more work I had to finish up at the office, I grabbed all my papers and RUSHED out to the 2nd office and stayed there for the rest of the day. I am so glad I have that option, or I would've cried!

Yes, I say kill the spiders too. But, kill the other pests with it...

I actually like small spiders, but not big ones. Gag, I was getting to sleep a few nights ago and something fell on my face. I jumped out of bed and turned on the light. It was a spider. So I shoed it away from my sleeping area, and carried it to the front porch in a napkin and let it go. I stayed awake for awhile, it was a little unnerving to be woken up like that.

Hugs,
Elijah

Hihi Elijah

You like spiders or just don't mind them? When I worked in a bakery once and was manning the register, I felt something tickling the side of my face. I thought it was part of my bang so I brushed it away, but it was still there. Then I felt it move and the customer gasped and said I had a huge daddy long leg spider on my hate. I screamed and screamed threw my hat to the floor and looked down and it was crawling down the front of my apron and it was as big as my hand!! I just broke down that day and needed time to myself for a while because I was so shaken up!

*giggles* It's so embarrassing because all the other customers and employees saw it too.

I wouldn't be able to go back to sleep if I were you and a spider fell on me. I'd be too busy checking everything to see if there are more, or if I didn't get rid of the spider, I'd go sleep somewhere else for the night!

How can I get over the fear of the things-just seeing them or talking about them makes my skin get crawly at times-I started to take a shower one day and couldnt' do it cuz there was a daddy long leg in the shower-I just decided getting dressed quick was better-other times I will be in a middle of a shower and won't finish-soap in hair or not and get out cuz of them-if I have to I will finish washing my hair in the sink-now we know we fear them but how do we make that fear go away?
God Bless.

I know for some people, hypnosis works- but it depends on the person- because some people cannot be hypnotized. My mother was hypnotized to eat healthier- but it wore off.

I know why I have a fear of spiders...

You see as a kid I use to catch ants and go throw them into the sider web and watch( in horror) as the spider came flying out of that web to massared that ant.

I know sick puppy ( :)

Just want you all to know that there is a reason to be afraid of spiders! I live in the northeast of usa, there are a few poisionous spiders around, I should know, I almost lost my eye from a bite.

It was 10 yrs. ago, I was pregnant with my girl, 8 months at the time. It was the middle of July, I was getting some rays on our deck that overlooked conservation land. Well, there was a family of spiders, GARDEN spiders to be exact, black and hairy, with yellow stripes on its side. They are poisionous. I got bit on my cheek, didn't know it, until my face started swelling up, then severe burning pain continued!! I had to go to the ER, then back again, the venom was giving me gangrene of the face and was traveling up to my eye! The pain was incredible, like someone taking a match to my face, and there was huge black dying skin, about an inch wide, and very depressed into the skin! Took lots of antibiotics through my veins! The DR.s and nurses couldn't believe what happened, I was the pregnant woman with a spider bite.

It left a huge hole in my cheek, my face didn't get better for months, every time a black piece of skin would fall off, there would be more gangrene underneath, which created a deeper hole in my face! The swelling was there for months!

I have since had plastic surgery, 3 yrs back, and just finished microdermabrasion ($750) for 7 treatments. My SCAR is almost gone, but it WAS a horrible hole, horrible scary experience, I was lucky not to lose my eye. So, spiders are scary and almost deadly. To this day, I'm very afraid of them, and with good reason.Just MY experience, wrong place at the wrong time. Bye for now Wendy

just reading these posts about spiders is making me itch. why are we afraid of such a tiny thing like that? it's so strange that it is such a common fear. i thought i was crazy for being so afraid of spiders. if i see one i kind of panic and call my husband to kill it or suck it up with a vacuum cleaner. if he's not around i have no choice but to kill it myself even though i can't stand to be within 10 feet of the damn thing but there is no way i'm leaving it to crawl around the house. this may sound strange but they do seem to know (even though they really don't) who doesn't like them. one time i was in my bedroom and i went into the kitchen. i have a habbit of looking up for those darn things and when i did there must have been about 20 baby spiders on the celeing! talk about an arachniphobics' worst night mare. i ran back in the bedroom and stayed there till my husband came home. that was at our old apartment. over here one time, i noticed there were spider webs all over things on my counter. that's jsut as bad. and yes i found the spiders too. what is it about those darn creepy little creatures?

by the way, in addition to the paper towel or vacuum cleaner, hair spray, lysol spray and air freshener will do the trick! lol

:eek:it's me again. i posted earlier as seen above and said that i found spider webs all over and around things on my kitchen counter and found spiders with them. well i just had another wonderful (being sarcastic) experience with the same thing again tonight. it was about 10-15 minutes ago and i'm still getting goose bumps. i can't stand it!!! my husband was sleeping so i took the vacuum and sucked up the webs and the nasty little black spider. i'm so afraid to tuch anything on the counters now and afraid to check other places. this is really driving me crazy! this may sound like a stupid question but i know they have little roach traps, but do they sell stuff for getting rid of spiders? it seems to be a problem in this house. i don't want anything like an istant kill spray. i want something that will get rid of the problem and keep it under control. any suggestions?

God Bless.

You know, theres little arachnids everywhere. They're on our skin, in our air, you can't get away from them. Why are we afriad of spiders but not dust mites? They're both in the same family!
