Propagandhi 05-26-2001, 05:24 AM same thing, mirrors in the dark, and leaving my closet door open when i sleep, i guess it comes from the childhood stories... barris 05-27-2001, 12:53 AM I actually like spiders (yall would scream if you knew what happened to me a few nights ago, with a spider, lol). I hate wasps, but I spoke of that in another post, Spheksophobia. Lol. I found phobialist.com to be a neat little bit of trivia. Elijah Tricia 05-30-2001, 12:18 AM I'm afraid of ants! They freak me out! Sugar ants, or "crazy" ants scare me, especially. THey are very tiny and they run around in circles. I didn't know "sugar ants" existed until one day I saw them running all over my counter in the kitchen. It did little to help my fear! LOL rom1212 12-04-2002, 11:44 PM I'm not gonna go into all my fears...but I just thought it was strange that someone else had the mirror fear for the same reason I do. All because of the whole Bloody Mary thing. It's haunted me ever since I was five... ------------------ God Bless!, Steph :) Kathrin 12-05-2002, 04:04 PM Hi Clouds, nice to see you here! http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif Kathrin minwax209 12-06-2002, 10:35 PM ok...just reading that 's' word is freakin me out...and OMG..those hard-bodied dolls..i totally hear ya on that one! lifeisbeautiful 12-28-2002, 11:04 PM how bout empty chairs? lol at night i cant stand empty chairs facing me or nething. i feel like someone might be in them i cant see. im also afraid at night if nething moves thats not supposed to. like ill imagine things on my dresser move and start freaking out. and yah the mirror thing. i definitely have that too. freaky huh. ------------------ YOU CAN DO ANYTHING if anyone tries to tell you that you can't work hard enough to face the task in front of you - sHoW tHeM tHaT yOu'Re ToUgH. if anyone tries to tell you that you are not strong don't listen to discouragement - kNoW tHaT yOu BeLoNg. [This message has been edited by lifeisbeautiful (edited 12-28-2002).] OrangeJane 12-29-2002, 03:42 AM LifeIsBeautiful, I am 24 and for years (at least 15) I have had nightmares that wake me in the night. They involve being attacked or stalked by something. I will go through "phases" where I have these every night for a few weeks and then all of a sudden they will stop for (for months sometimes). And for all of these years, even though the nightmares have changed over time, they still involve the same person or monster-whatever it is. I will wake up and be so paranoid of everything. I have found that it is good to walk around for a second; get a glass of water or read a few pages of a happy book. If I do not give myself enough time to fully wake up then I will fall right back into the nightmare, which is even worse. Most of the time this works, and something happy tends to calm me down enough to dicipate some of the paranoia. I have come to the conclusion (for lack of any other answer) that I have possibly formed some kind of representation of my OCD in a dream state since I have had OCD since childhood. As in my dreams, it is something that makes me feel like I have a lack of control, it strikes when I do not expect it, and it has the power to tear me down emotionally. However, I have almost gotten to the state where I can tell before I am asleep if I am going to have a nightmare or not by how much stress my OCD is causing me. Though, you also have to wonder if, unconciously, I am bringing them on by relating them to the levels of my OCD anxiety. But I have only come to this conclusion within the past year and have been able to sense the dreaded dreams (at least part of the time) for about two years. I do not know what your nightmares consist of, but this is an explanation of mine, which could be similar. Hope this helps a bit. Sorry this was so long. Cornholio 02-04-2003, 02:36 PM Hey Hey Hey! |
