Are there any other Pure-Oers out there? Has anyone found any relief? I'm so tired. I have only been living with this for over a year and I can't stand it! How does anyone deal with this? I often wish I had a terminal illness, then I think I could relax.

hey , I am also a pure obsessor. I have been obsessing for about a month now. Obsesing over Tourettes syndrome and Ocd. I often obsess on every little behavior I go through. It is so tiring I know. I think we need to accept what we have and try to move on even if it hurts us. No matter how bad the anxiety gets try not to give in to your compulsion. When I am working I find myself concentrating more, of course I still want to obsess over my problems. I jsut drown myself into my work or hobbies(basketball) and usually it works. Just got to try to keep busy. I know it stinks, since when should relaxing and enjoying life be so tough. But once you get through this thinking rutt you are in right now, you will be able to focus better. I feel for you because I am also a pure OCDer. About the terminal illness I often think that way too, but you know what then we would obsess over that illness. It just doesn't stop but there is help to stop it significanly. Are you on meds? They help a lot. I am on Prozac 40 mgs, it helps a little. Well keep on fighting ok, because one day I really believe we will be free from these diseases, the future looks bright.

I have puure obsessive OCD, no rituals at all. Most of mine center around sinning and religion. I know what you mean about being tired of it. I had it pretty well under control up until last year when my insurance stopped paying for the Luvox. I just started on Zoloft a few weeks ago and no relief yet. It usually takes me about 10 to 12 weeks for the meds to kick in. It seems like forever when you are suffering.
Are you on medicine? It really has helped me in the past but you have to be patient with it.
Good luck, let me know how you are progressing.

Oh brother did you hit on something here!!!!!
My OCD is in my face everyday.
Every time I go to the refrigerator or turn off a light switch or see a piece of paper on the floor, not like a full sheet of paper but specks of stuff, these of course our rituals/compulsive behavior but the PURE Obbsessive thoughts are what bother me the most and it's about religion, and it's an everyday all day struggle.
What to do to get out of this hell? Well I am going to start on Luvox soon and hopefully it will help.

Take Care :)
