O.K. Friends, don't laugh. My OCD Obsession is this: Every night before I go to bed I must close the door to my closet in the bedroom. As I lay in the bed my mind thinks that an old hag will come out of the closet, come to my bed, grab me by the hair and drag me back into my closet to do who knows what with me!(You guys stop laughing yet?)These thoughts occur every night and only at night. I try sleeping with the T.V on, dosen't work! The only way I can go to sleep is my sheer exhaustion! I'll lay in bed, try to close my eyes and I'll hear a sound or a floor board! Am I nuts or what? Anybody have this same obsession? I'm a 47 year old Attorney, who would be laughed out of mr firm if any of my fellow Lawyers knew! My wife thinks I'm silly, but I'm serious! Please help, anyone.....

Any ocd obsession isn't funny, maybe they can sound that way but the one living it surely doesn't think so. Would be interesting to find out the old hag part, have you tried to find out how that figure into the equation?

Hi mate

If you try to sleep with the closet open do you feel paralysed (sorry I can't spell). If so then you may have a case of the night hag which is hallucinations made by your body thus making you unable to move then you may feel that you are being sat on and being crushed or dragged away. These are very frightening.

If this does match your problem then look for sleep paralysis on a search engine.
