The answer to this horrible problem seems different for everyone,, although it may be the same. I am 22, was diagnosed with add when 5 and refused to take meds,, couldn't stand ritalin because it suppressed my appetite. During highschool I tried many drugs for the same reasons most kids do,, I have been on pretty much everything that can be perscribed,, now I take two medications,, adderal 5mg a day and ativan 2mg at night for sleep. Sometimes I wonder if I will ever get off of meds. I see a shrink every month
The adderal has helped me in ways I cannot explain,, low dosage is the best,, not many side affects and noticing that my concentration has been very connected.
Without it I would be depressed all the time. Please send me your stories about how add medication has helped/ or not helped you. Never did I think there was a medication that would help. I start school this evening after being out for nearly 2 years just trying to find work.
I am a musician but will soon channel my talents to being just hobbies. What do you think your answer is for add/adhd?
