My bf has ADD and has recently been battling depression due to confusion and stress in his life. He's turing 23, hasnt finished school, doesnt care for the career path he is now and is utterly confused and has lost passion for things. Is this directed to ADD..symptomatic? What can i do to help him??

HI, THIS IS ME IN A NUTSHELL. I'M A 17 YEAR OLD FEMALE AND I DO HAVE ADD. A LOT OF YOUR B-FRIENDS PROBLEMS/SYMPTOMS ARE FROM ADD OR ADHD ALONG WITH THE STRESS AND BULL S**IT OF LIFE. IT CAN BE AN EASY THING TO OVER COME,I AM CURRENTLY IN THE PROSSESS. REGULAR EXERCISE IS IMPORTENT ASWELL AS A VERY STRICT DIET AND VITIMIN PROGRAM. I FOUND ALMOST ALL MY INFO ON THE NET. IF YOU WANT MORE ABOUT THE DIET OR WHICH VITIMINES TO TAKE YOU CAN E-MAIL ME. THE MOST IMPROTANT THING I CAN SAY IS DO NOT TAKE ANY DRUGS PERSCRIBED OR NOT, IT REALLY ONLY MAKES THINGS WORSE. I HOPE I WAS OF HELP TO YOU.

If your boyfriend is dissatisfied with his career choice then why doesn't he do something about changing it?? Only he can do something about changing his career choice. He sounds like he needs to quit feeling sorry for himself and get on with life. As for the depression aspects encourage him to get some help with sorting out things in life that are causing his depression. I for one am not against medication either for ADD or depression so long as it is used properly and helps with the problems it is used for. I do believe with any medication prescribed there should be proper testing to document that you truely do have whatever you need the medication for be it ADD or pneumonia.
