I would just like to know if anyone out there knows anything about perfection, and if this could be related to OCD

I read that it is a personality disorder (there is a forum here on healthboards for that)-more learned behavior. the younger you are the better chances you can cure yourself of that mindset.
Unless you are a bodybuilder that has used steriods/hormones then I would assume weaning off them would alleviate it.
OCD can be immobilizing and is hard to cure/fix.

Hi Eva - I think that perfectionism can be a part of the obsessive side of OCD. Could you tell us a little more about the nature of your perfectionism?
In my case, perfectionism is more a part of Generalized Anxiety Disorder, people pleasing and just a plain part of my personality (which is good to some extent).

I agree with HangtenVetter...I think the quest for "prefection" can co-exist with OCD...just as Depression or Generalized anxiety often co-exist with OCD as well. It may not constitute OCD on its own, but can go alongside it. Also OCD is very treatable, so don't get discouraged! :)
