Gotta question~
Does anyone here eat out of depression? I've had a slight case of depression this past year. Since then, I REALLY started obsessing about food and now can't stop, escpecially at night. I could find things to do around the house if I wanted to, but food seems like the only thing that comforts me. I've tried a few medications thru my dr. but nothing has worked so far. I've called around to a few pychiatrists and plan on seeing one, even though I'm really nervous about the whole situation. Any advice anyone?

It sounds like food and eating is what fills not only your stomach but also your days... like it is the only thing that i really fulfilling? I can relate to that, as a former anorexic (which really makes you just obsessed with food). I think it is great that you are trying to get help, there is really nothing to be embarrassed about. I am sure any psychiatrist you speak to has seen the craziest things so how could he or she look down on YOUR specific case?
Are you OVEReating, or just constantly THINKING about eating? Has it made you sick, or have you gained a lot of weight?
I can relate to the night eating thing too, I have the habit of reading and eating something before I go to sleep. I guess a bedtime snack is ok, but for a while I really overdid it... and yes I do sometimes get up at night and feel the need to eat something again.
