Hi. Since I've been on the meds, once in a while, I get this peculiar feeling of reliving a childhood memory. It's not so much that I recall the memory, it's like I feel it.

For instance, I'll get the sensation of being a kid driving with my grandpa in his pickup truck out in the country. Or sitting at the table while my grandma made me a hamburger.

The sensations happen at the oddest times. I really do like them. I was wondering if anybody else has any similar experiences.

Hi there,
I get the same feelings sometimes...and on good days more often than not. I think these thoughts seem "different" to us OCDers because we are hardly ever ever have them; we hardly ever experience life without having some background thought or obsession going on in the back of our heads. I think what you are experiencing is just feeling...that's it, and maybe upon doing so, remembering the past as you did as a child, before the OCD kicked in. I dunno...just a theory... :D

These sensations didn't start until I began taking the meds. It's like the meds have unlocked some lost memories. Mostly they are memories/sensations of me with my grandparents. I loved them dearly. For some reason I don't have lots of childhood memories, so it is nice to have a few of them unlocked. I am glad the ones unlocked are good.

Ooh ok, I see! Maybe with the meds and having your obsessions wane, you are able to remember things more clearly? I remember when I was on Luvox I felt I was able to concentrate better...I made the Dean's list that semester...straight A's! :) Hmmmm...maybe I should go back on it? LOL! But whatever the cause of it is, that is a nice effect eh? I think any memory that isn't riddled with stress is a nice one for me actually...
