I have had these symptoms as long as I can remember. I get a pressure type headache in which I have trouble thinking of what to say next and feel very spacey. I also have trouble listening and trying to understand what people are telling me. It like part of my brain is stuck and I can't concentrate. I tend to space out. I even catch myself stareing alot. I am also a complete slob but I just feel to scatterbrained to get orgainzed. Lately, my skin feels like it on fire and I feel flushed. My life is a mess. I have trouble relaxing. Does anyone with ADD have these type symptoms??

I have those symptoms, and I have ADD. My medication makes it alot better though. (adderall) You should go to the doctor and get tested, because it's not good to live your life like that. I know!

I wouldn't jump to the dx. of ADHD. Medication if not absolutely needed, shouldn't be the first step in your treatment. I would research Allergies! Find out what you may be allergic to and remove it from your diet. It could be enviromental allergies or even chemical allergies. I suggest that you check out the NAET web site. There are testimonies of people who have had allergy induced ADHD, and were cured. Be encouraged there is hope.Another thing to consider is candida. NAET apparently works with many different medical conditions. You could call a NAET docttors office, tell the nurse you symptoms, and ask if she thinks they can help you work this out without medicine. I am going this route with my 3 year old son who has allergy induced autistic symptoms. Your diet plays a major factor in these types of problems. I suggest that you avoid too much sugar, and carbs. You may have hypoglycemia that could be corrected by diet and exercise. I wish you the best.

Grant, two possibilities spring to mind. One is migrane headaches. The other is epileptic seizures. If this is the case, you definitely don't want to take ritalin without a thorough neurological workup, as ritalin can lower the seizure threshold in susceptible individuals.
My recommendation is that you ask your doctor for a referral to a neurologist, to discuss these possibilities.
