I take adderall, and I think it is a pretty strong drug. I am sure they give a child a smaller dosage. I have never heard of a small child taking adderall. I think that is more common for them to take ritilin.

It is used for a diet drug because on SOME people (like myself) it will make you lose weight, fast. My normal weight is like 135. When I am on adderall I weigh about 120. Sometimes it gets down to like 115-118, so I stop taking it for a month to gain my weight back. Now not everyone has this effect. It is actually pretty nice for me though. Ha ha. How high was your sons dosage, and how long was he taking it. If I were you, I wouldn't worry about it. I really doubt that is will have any long term effects. I have taken 30mg's before whick is way to high for me. Now I am at 20 mg's. I have been on it for 3 years, and I have gone through some bad side effects with it at first, but when my dosage got lowered, I was fine. I actually don't ever want to go without it. I wouldn't be too worried. But if he had a bad experience, I just wouldn't let him take it again.
