Here's a potential theory. Thoughts and fears like "I'm a murderer, I'm crazy," or "that person thinks I'm an idiot, or was laughing at," we can all agree fall into the catagory of intrusive or obsessive thoughts. I myself have had some or all of these at one time or another. I was also beat up and verbally abused by my brother growing up, and it's almost like these thought "beat" me up like my bro. Maybe I'm just used to that. Along with other reasons for anxiety and all that good sutff, maybe this plays a apart in it too. Anyone have similar expirience? Any thoughts for all us crazy people?

I believe that our upbringing can play a part in what obsessions take hold. My particular case was religious. What an awful mix, religion and obsessions! That said, opinion holds that the reason for OCD is a problem with the brain. So the actual obsessions might stem from environmental issues, but the root cause is physical.

Yeah, it seems like the reaction is chemical IE the anxiety, and how repeating thoughts somehow quells it, but the nature and the subject of those thoughts, and maybe how you use them is definitely constructed by something from the enviroment. It seems like people with these problems are on a neverending quest for answers.
