My Mom has multiple problems, chief among them being osteoporosis. So far this year she has had vertebroplasty for two compression fractures in her mid-spine. She has three fractures in her pelvis. Two in her neck and one in her colorbone. She has COPD and lately she has been hallucinating, depressed and generally out of it. I read one of the posts that says Micalcin caused depression & anxiety, is anyone else experiencing hallucinations? Mom does that occasionally. She is on Duragesic 75 patches and Roxycodone for breakthrough pain, so I am sure that has something to do with it. She cannot tolerate Fosamax. Can anyone tell me how far this horrible thing will or could progress? It is frightning to even hug Mom for fear you might break yet another bone in her body.

I am so sorry about your mom. This is really scary. Mine is only mild to moderate. Can you please tell me what problem she had taking fosamax?
You can copntact me via this message board.
Thank you.

Your story is heartbreaking.
You might want to look into Actonel. It is my understanding that it is similar to Fosamax but without the side effects.
I will pray for you and your mother.

I don't know what I have because
I am not insured and can't go to the doctor, I am 46 years old
and my hump on my neck is growing bigger by the day, I am currenlty
on Atkins and have lost about 20 lb in 5 weeks, not on
any hormones and had a hysterectomy 7 years ago with one
ovary left,
I currently take Coral calcium and bone builder to put bone
back in and Km,
but, the hump is growing, maybe I need to start walking
again?
Or start taking hormones, has anyone else gone thru this?
