News....I was having a consult for my 1st colonscopy when I mentioned my adverse reacton to the "fosamax" my bone pain and the feeling that somehow my thyroid may be connected. I was asked about my last thyroid tests....just last week and the results which I had not been given yet. Well....I was right....I am on the wrong meds for my thyroid as my TSH was way too high. This was washing out any calcium I have been using.... :( I was given an rx for ARMOUR thyroid (which I have continually asked for years)....and a "nasal spray" for bone repair. All this from a totally new doc that just seemed to sense my "mess". We also discussed the possibilty of Paget's Disease which is a real possibility....but they new meds will help for whatever I have to face. I am very much relieved that I have finally found this new doc.... :)

from everything i have read the nasal spray your refer to is most likely miacalcin and it is the least effective in treating bone loss..it is usually on prescribed wehn a patient cant tolerate actonel fosamax or even evista

Yes you are right....but they have better reports on it now and I am hopeful. It also is used with different bone diseases such as Paget's and maybe my doc suspects this or something else. I have pretty bad thyroid that is hard to control as it varies from hyper to hypo....and this is connected with bone disease.
Thanks for your answer.... :)
