does anyone out there have fleeting bone and joint pain? Docs are not intersted in this....had to beg for a bone density even though I am a "classical case".
Thin, blonde, nothern european, 50+....hypothyroid and menopausal.
I lift weights and walk.....but this pain has got me very low energy. I am on levothroid, estrogen patch, motrin....and supposed to be on fosamax....but got much worse when taking it. I am on 1500 mg of calcium in the form of tabs and chews and eat a very nutritious diet....HELP!!!!

Hi pippismom:

I have lots of joint pain too and was wondering if it's due to low estrogen, but you're using a patch and have joint pain too. I asked my Internist, Gyn. and one Rheumy if menopause could be the cause of my joint pain, and they all said no. In fact the Rheumy said, "We like to blame everything on menopause, don't we." That really pissed me off b/c I've read many times that menopause can cause joint pain. It's so frustrating, as well as painful. I had a bone density test today and all is fine. I'll be seeing another Rheumy soon to get her opinion. I can't take this pain much longer.
