Hello, I've been recently diagnosed with ADD. I've been prescribed 18mg of Concerta a day and was told to take 36mg if that doens't work. Well I've done both and this doesnt' seem to work for me. Instead of allowing me to concentrate and get the buzzing out of my head it just makes me annoyed, depressed, and weak feeling. I've heard that some people do better off with Adderol as opposed to Concerta or Ritalin. Is this true??
On a side note, when I was in college I took some Adderol one time as it was offered much like a caffeine type drug while studying. It seemed to work great from what I can remember as it was a long time ago. Could this be the right one??

You didn't say how long you have been on the Concerta but if you have given it a fair trial and it is not working for you then by all means call the doc and tell him what side effects you have experienced and let him decide what your next step is. Some meds work well for certain people but don't do a thing for others so it make take a while to find a med or combination of meds that works well for you.

My brother had the same issue. Concerta did not work for him but Adderrall did. It depends on the specific person what drug will work for you and what will not (as a pharm. student I did a little research on this)
