My 9 year old has been on Concerta for 3 months now. Several times he has found something in his stools that appears to be the Concerta pill. Could he not be digesting the medicine like he should? I am going to call his doctor Monday, but I was wondering if anyone else has heard of this. Thanks.

Depending on the makeup of concerta it could be just the casing of the concerta that he is passing in his stool. Potassium is one medication that does that sometimes. Was it a solid thing when checked it? If you didn't check it to see if it was the pill or just casing check the next one you see and then take things from there.

It looks solid and greenish in color.

You need to actually check it to be sure it is the pill and not just the casing. Looks are very deceiving as Potassium looks whole when you see it in the stool but if you check it you will find it is only the casing. That is why I asked if it was solid or not.

Thank you. I did call his doctor today, she said it was more than likely the casing. However, next time I will check like you said.

Was just placed on Concerta, and that was on the guide given to me with my script. Don't be alarmed! Sounds kinda wierd though, hmm?!
