I am an adult, recently diagnosed with ADD by a counseling professional.
Before I start taking meds, I would like to find a qualified ADD testing center or psychiatrist that specialized in ADD. I am in the Dallas/Fort Worth area of Texas. So far, I am having almost no luck finding such a resource. Anyone have any suggestions?

As your family physician for a referral to a clinic that does ADD testing. Your regular doc should be able to point you in the right direction as they deal with this all the time.

Unfortunately, I have already tried that. My GP had no suggestions. The counselor says that testing is not necessary, as the only true test for ADD is to try the meds. Several books on the topic are in alignment with him on this. Also, some of the posts on this site seem to concur. I have come up with the names of two psychiatrists in the area - but I would prefer someone that was actually recommended. Ah, well. . .
