Hi people,

What do you do when you're taking you're medications as prescribed, however you still get aweful pain attacks?. Do you just close you're eyes and hope it goes away or what do you do. Some days, I just sleep in and dont even want to take my meds, because they make me feel crappy. So I just sleep and sleep.

Once when I was on phenergan for nausea I realized that the phenergan decreased the severity of the pain. But it also made me sleep. So, I only take it when I'm sick. Anyone else have the experince with phenergan?.(promethazine)

I take another breakthrough med. I take both long acting oxycontin and oxycodone 5mg for breakthrough pain. Then I pray for less pain the next day so I can use less, preventing me from running out before the month is over. If my dosage is just not cutting it I call my doctor and inform them that I am taking more, according to the rules of my "opiate contract".

If you are taking only long-acting talk to your doctor about getting meds for the breakthrough pain you are describing.
