I figure if I get a new doc,my new doc will only recieve a letter from my old doc to see my health issues, saying yes she is sick with crohn's and IBS,but I don't think she should take perks anymore. He gives me t-3's and I take Advil, acetaminophen with codine, muscle relaxers, ect,Trying anything to stop the pain. What should I do.I can't be turned away again,I am so frusterated.I took perks for 2 years and lived pain free, now my doc won't give them to me,and I am suffering so very badly.Bed ridden most days,I can't leave my home.Any help would be great. Thanks

You need to be with a Pain Management Specialist, is that possible? As far as your old doc writing a letter like that, the only time they should write a letter discouraging the use of opiates is if a patient has abused their meds and/or broken an agreement. If you have not been in any trouble (i.e., taking more than prescribed-running out early, changing/forging prescriptions, etc.), you don't have anything to worry about. Even IF the old doctor wrote a letter like that expressing his opinion, the new doctor IS entitled to his/her own opinion after evaluating you and may likely feel that opiates are the best option for you.
I hope that makes you feel better. Good luck.

I didnt know Docs could just cut you off like that being its so dangerous and all to just stop a narcotic like percs. My Doc was concerned about my acetominophen intake with the percs so he put me on Oxycontin (same as percs but with no acetominophen) and you only take 2 pills every 12 hours) I am on 20mg twice a day and I have percs for breakthrough incase the oxy doesnt last 12 hours which in my case it lasts about 6 so doc allows one perc in between. All that acetominophen your taking is more dangerous than if you were back on the percs. Like Maildawn said as long as your not running out early and abusing them there should be no reason the new doc wouldnt treat your pain the way you want him to.
