I am in a very difficult position. My doctor (Primary care) decided recently I no longer needed any kind of pain medication for my CP. On top of everything else, I'm still recovering from lung surgery I had last month when they found and removed a orange sized non-malignant growth from my left lung. I get sharp stabbing pains, which the doctor has explained is nerve pain from the nerves being cut during surgery. It's suppose to gradually decrease, but apparently there's a better than good chance of having some of it the rest of my life. Add this to the list of other CP problems I have!

What I am asking is for help locating and hopefully get hooked up with a pain specialist (PM doc) in the Southeast part of Washington or Northeast part of Oregon. I would prefer one that is fairly close, but not opposed to driving to Spokane (140 miles one way) or Seattle (230 miles one way) if that's what I have to do. I am at the point of ordering some kind of meds on the internet, but so far haven't. I guess the main reasons are, the cost and also the risk of getting burned. If anyone has had very good service and were able to get what they needed from a U.S. pharmacy, let me know. This may end up being my last resort.

If anyone can help me with this situation, so I can get some relief, I would really appreciate it. The doctor I am looking for must be willing to prescribe opiates (preferably long acting, with break through meds too) as that seems to be my only option at getting pain relief.

Thank you in advance for any help you can give me with this.

Hi Director. Do NOT order meds over the internet!! It is ILLEGAL! Talk about getting "burned", you WILL! Try contacting Dr. Hochman at www.paincare.org. (http://www.paincare.org.) I know he has helped a number of people that were having problems (i.e., dropped by their doctors, unable to find a pain specialist, etc.). Give him a try before you do anything out of desperation. Good luck, Dawn

I have heard that any pain meds ordered over the internet are often delivered to you by the DEA! It is very illegal, and you don't need more problems than you already have. You might try a search engine for lists of PM doctors/clinics in your state. I know that they do exist. Good Luck!

don't order pain meds from the internet. you think you have problems now, wait until the dea shows up at your door. YIKES! let's not forget, even if you did order meds online, who knows what you are really getting. you could end up sick as hell or maybe even worse. i know it is hard, but there is a doctor out there for you. the hard part is finding one. you can do it though. it just takes time and a little help from people on this board. please don't order meds. your just asking for trouble!!

take care

Actually, I have ordered meds from the internet, and I didn't have any trouble. I don't recommend ordering from a foreign pharmacy, but having an online doctors consult might be an option. I don't do it very often, because its very expensive, but you can have a phone consult with a doctor and they will write you a prescription. I know for a legitimate place, you need a credit card, a valid ID, and real medical records. You have to fax them the medical records before they will talk to you though. I thought it was very easy. The doctors were nice and understanding and they asked me what I would like to try for pain. I requested hydrocodone, and he gave me 90 tabs with 2 refills. The consult was about 100$ and the meds were about 150$. I know this is expensive, but for me It was worth it. It was nice to not have to worry about convincing the doctor and running around all day. I don't recommend it for everybody, but if you are desperate and have medical records, you will be okay. I don't know what the big deal over this topic is?? Everyone who suffers from CP has at least thought about it. Especially when you don't have a pain doctor or live in the boonies. Don't feel guilty about doing it-you have a real medical condititon. Its really not that big of a deal!
