I saw a pain management dr today, he prescribed 50mcg of Duragesic pain. I put it on my upper arm about 5pm today. When should it kick in? I'm nerous, I only have about 4 Norco's left, I don't want to run out, then not have this work and have withdraw symptoms. I was in excrutiating pain tonight because I didn't want to take the Norco's, finally dh asked me to please take something, I was in so much pain. I'm praying this works soon!

go ahead and take the norco, , my experience was 4-12 hours. Or, not like the instructions say, a medium blowdryer setting will do the trick. I was slightly nautious(sp) and sleepy for a day or so, also, write the company, e-mail them. to get the free things that go on over them so they don't come off easily. Hope the patches help, beats taking pills all the time. My doc did give me vicoden to take along with the patches for breakthrough, any questions ask your doc, not the office nurse. Sometimes something new scares us a bit.

I read it can take up to 18 hours to kick in...
