Well freinds i now have 5 weeks before surgery for the trial Pump, it can't come quick enough for me as i'm having episodes of ever increasing pain..
Just thought i would let you know..

3 Level fusion L3-L4 L4-L5 L5-S1
No better after fusion.
2 Discograms
Loss of bladder control (OK NOW )
Lots of physio..
2 MRI'S
Water Theraphy..
1 Bone scan
1 Cat Scan
Loads of ESI'S
lots of Mediacation and i'm allergic to most of them..
Now Under P/M CONSUTANT HAVE BEEN FOR THE PASS SIX MONTHS..
Need Friends and Comfort, with the odd laugh..

Hello, Tiddgys! 5 weeks left to go - countdown is slowing coming to an end. Bless your heart! I know you just can't wait to get it ALL over with. I just found out today that I'm having my 2nd pump trial next Wed., 7/16. As you know, I didn't talk with the dr. (cause he NEVER talks with his patients!), but the girl that phone me from his office said it would be the same procedure, but would be either a different dose of morphine or another med. Usual confusion and secrecy from the dr!
Anyway, know that I've been thinking about you and will continue to keep you in my prayers. I know the wait is agony, but you will get there!!!
I'll let you know how my 2nd trial goes, even though yours will be alot different. Keep your chin up and know that others care deeply, especially me.

Thank you so much for your support on this as this as been such along drag for me, this week i have been so ill with the side effects of my meds..
Well it is now 4 weeks si it is comming closer..

You'll do fine! Everytime you feel like meds are messing with you.... think of how long you've dealt w/ the pain, the meds not helping... changing... still not helping - THEN - look into the future a bit.... not much longer, and maybe a little discomfort from the surgery to put pump in... but, Guess What? It won't be long til you're looking back at these posts going.... did I ever really feel that bad? Cuz... Now - I have a life! And it isn't called Pain! http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/dance.gif

9/22/00 24 hour labor, baby posterior, left tailbone killing me
12/00 MRI - PCP said nothing amiss - but, had to begin taking vicodin
2/8/02 - 2nd baby born after long, painful pregnancy, weight gain didn't help
2000-11/02 various PT + pain meds
11/02 Referred to Neuro
3/03 NEW MRI - shows slight bulge L3-L4,slight DDD, neural foramen involved, Superior aspect S1 and L5 Nerve root involvement -Neuro Refers to PM for ESI
3/03 PM Doc orders ESI
3/21,4/1,4/8 - ESI's no help
5/9 - Discogram - shows Tear L4 w/ significant leak onto nerves, DDD
Performing doc oversedated, False Negative (pm doc & I agree)
New Consult w/ Dept Head Cleveland Clinic 7/8 to discuss possible new discogram/IDET candidacy
7/8-Doc ordered Facet Joint nerve block for 7/29 to rule out/identify as pain generator. If not, new discogram.
Also, thinks tailbone prob is dif issue - wants x-ray - THOUGHT I had one - didn't!! They are ordering.

How i hope the words you have posted will become true, i know having this pump will make me remind myself that for life i will be a chronic painer and married to the hospital, But that will out weigh it all if the pain relief is good..
