What exactly is Codeine Phosphate? In the Bahamas, they sell 222's with 8 mg of Codeine Phosphate and 400 mg Asprin. They also have some pill with 12.8 mg of Codeine Phosphate.

I bought some in Nassau and they were WEAK. I was just wondering what they were compared to regular codeine.

Hi. Briefly what I found, and maybe someone else may know more,that #2 has 15mg of codiene phosphate and 300mg tylonal. Also mentioned that 120mg. of that codeine is equal to 10mg. of morphine. I'm no expert but that sounds weak. Take care,Lake

They are a C5 pain reliever with a minimal amount of drug and a maximum amount of stomach lining destroyer.Anyone that has to take those things better have an iron gut.As far as pain relief,it,s about as weak as they come,maybe in line with a Darvocet.If you wanted to take em to get a buzz,you,d need about 10 of em and that may get you going a bit but so would 4,000mgs of Aspirin.Jack B.

Like Lake said a Tylenol #2 has 15mgs and a
Tylenol #3 has 30mgs of codeine. T-4's have 60mgs. Codeine is an opium analog, one of the meds extracted from the poppy. They actually have CodeineContin available in Canada, made by our friends at Purdue but not for use in the US.
Codeine can build up a harmful metabolite when you reach doses above 400mgs a day. Jacks right, you will eat a whole in your stomach before you get any pain relief from the OTC meds with codeine. Codeine is also very harsh on it's own, stomach pain,constipating, etc.
