Dear Lake,
I left a post to update everyone on my original post.
I landed in the ER this am. I vomited all night plus diarrea, couldn't hold anything down so basically starving myself.
It was horrible. I'm doing better now, although still very week. Read my last post on my origianl "OH NO...HERE I GO"
Thanks so much for your concern. I means a great deal to me the compassion you and the others have shown me. It really touches my heart! Thanks for the tips too.
Love,
Wend

Hey there, Did the er docs help? I hope you can see your Dr. sooner than later.I can stay up for awhile if it helps. I've been there and I know it's no fun.Lake I just read your post on the other thread. You have such a wonderful family, I've never run across such a bright lining to such a dark cloud.

Thanks. Yea my family is very beautiful and sensitive to my problems (neck pain etc). We are very close. If one kid starts crying about someone teasing them or scraped knee, the others start crying too out of sympathy for the hurt one. Then they all start hugging and helping each other. Like getting them a band daid or telling off the kid that hurt their brother or sisters feelings. I'm very proud of them and hope that their closeness will last a lifetime.
The er doc was super sympathetic and understood what was happening to me. He gave me 3 different meds for nausea, antibiotics and something else. He just said that I need to speak to my doc about giving me a patch that will last like 12 hours. He said that the lortabs are dangerous for me now and I should only use them as breakthru meds. After being there for a couple of hours and after they had me stable, the nausea was gone, no more vomiting but I couldn't control my bowels (don't wanna get too graphic, but it wasn't pretty). Then my legs and arms were just kicking and flailing all over the place. I couldn't conrol it. I think that's when they finally determined that I was under some heavy withdrawels symptoms along with having some type of virus.

Well right now I'm using lortab 7.5 that a friend gave to me. Not something I'm supposed to be doing, but it's all I have for now. I'll go in to see my doc probably by the end of this week. Yes, I'm doing better today but still very weak. I've been dozing off and on all day long http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/yawn.gif. Just very lethargic. Thanks so much for your concern Lake. I appreciate all of your posts on my behalf!

Hey Wend,
I too was in the same situation as you with the lortab not working as well as before and having to take more than perscribed. I finally went to the doctor and told them that it wasn't providing enough pain relief and that I was having to take too much of the vicodin and I was worried about my liver. My particular Dr was and has always been sympathetic to my pain and put me on the duragesic patch. It gives me continuous pain relief for 3 days at a time and he also RX me vicodin 7.5 4x day for breakthrough pain.I have to say that it is a godsend for me. The only thing was that the patch wasn't sticking so I called the manufacturer and the sent me these coverettes and now no problem. Maybe this is something that you can disscus with your Dr. I wish you well and good luck.. Mo

Lake: You are too kind. It brought tears to my eyes when you said that you found yourself looking at the calender for me. Man, that is the sweetest thing! Thank you. I'm doing ok right now. My newest problem is my wisdom tooth, but I'm getting that taken care of today! I hope your doing ok, too. I'm thinking about you.
Mo: Thanks for your insight. Yes I've had a few people here tell me about the patch. The ER doc also said that I need to talk to my doc about using the patch. I've heard alot of good things about it. I'm starting college (again), at 34, in the fall and I think the patch would be beneficial for that too. Plus, the lortab just haven't been cutting it and I don't like taking all that apap. My husband is coming with me to the doctor next week and we are going to talk about the patch. Hopefully it won't be a problem. I mean the ER doc mentioned it, you and alot of people in here have mentioned it, the pharmicist talked to my husband about it, the nurse at the ER told my husband to get me on it......looks like all signs point to the patch. Let's hope my doc agrees. Thanks for telling me your story. It helps to know that others have been in my shoes.
I'm truly amazed at the compassion in this forum. It is so very appreciated!
